Background Information on Yarrow Essential Oil

Yarrow is a flowering plant in the family of Asteraceae, native to the Northern Hemisphere. Known as plumajillo or “little feather” in new Mexico and southern Colorado as the shape of the leaves are similar to a feature.  Other common names include gordaldo, nosebleed plant, devil’s nettle, milfoil, soldier’s woundwort, thousand-seal and old man’s pepper.  Countries which produce the most are Bosnia, France, Hungary and the USA.

Yarrow essential oil has a dark blue color. Yarrow was used in traditional medicine. The Native Americans used it to treat several conditions including headaches, head colds, and earaches. The Zuni people chewed the blossoms and roots of the plant before fire-walking and fire-eating feats.*

Yarrow Pure Essential Oil Reviews

“It smells great and is a deep greenish blue color which is within the color range of pale greenish blue to deep blue color that this essential oil is supposed to be. I have another Yarrow Essential oil from another more expensive company and this one smells the exact same but it is not as deep blue as the other one is. But as I explained before this is normal. It seems to work like it should for my medicinal use. I do recommend this product and will definitely purchase again from this company.  Extra essential oil note: When you work with essential oils you need to understand that this is a natural product and even the same supplier can have differences in batches, when it comes to smell, color and strength in medicinal properties. This is because it all depends on the soil, the amount of rain, how much sun, and even when it is picked.” – C.V.

“This is a high quality essential oil at a reasonable price. It is dark blue in color, as yarrow essential oil is supposed to be. It has a strong scent. I use it in skin care products and I am very pleased with it. I would definitely buy this again.” – T. Schultz

“Nice scent and color – deep blue to green. Very relaxing too. Wonderful company. Love their other oils too!” – T. Miller

“Priced fairly, this oil has a rich, exotic, soft, aroma -though thin in consistency.  Yarrow flowers, as with reishi mushrooms for example, come in different colors, which each offer different types of health benefits. This is clear and complex. Recommend saving used essential oil bottles and their drip inserts.” – B.E.

“Good quality.” – P. Grant

”Fast shipping. Excellent.”  – S. Tomura

”A+ company. Would definitely buy from again.”  – P. McCurdy

“It came *really* fast and is a lovely blue. I’ve been mixing it into my own bruised-and-banged-up preparation and it seems to work great.” –  Valentine Ash
