I’ve been an EFT/Tapping practitioner for many years, and I am always looking for ways to use EFT “outside the box.” I like to experiment with adding things to EFT, and that’s how I came across using essential oils while tapping. The following is a useful, informative lesson about the use of essential oils and Lemongrass with EFT/tapping by John Soriano.
The partnership of the two is natural, as both work with deeper dimensions of a person. It is important, however, to use only quality oils for any self-work. Anything less will diffuse your results. This is one reason why I use Bio Source Naturals essential oils. I know their quality and I am confident in working with them.
In this article, I’m focusing on the use of lemongrass essential oil. Lemongrass has properties that help purify the mind and aid in releasing resentments and negativity. Once when I was feeling especially negative, I went to my study to use tapping to release it. Before I actually started, however, the thought came to me to try using lemongrass. I always act on such inspirations when they come to me, so I went and got the bottle.
I applied the oil to my fingertips and to the palms of the hands. Since it was on the fingertips, the tapping would make sure the meridian points would come into contact with the oil. By putting it on the palms, it strengthened the aroma during the process.
If you have sensitive skin you will want to mix a small amount of the oil with a carrier oil, such as coconut or sweet almond, because it can sting your skin and be an irritant if undiluted, especially since some of the tapping points are around the eyes. I personally didn’t dilute it and it did sting a bit, but nothing I couldn’t handle.
As I began tapping, I could feel an almost immediate release of the negativity. I went another round, and it was virtually gone. I then decided to proceed by using “positive” EFT to create a more positive energy and mood and, that’s when, in my opinion, the lemongrass REALLY kicked in. Remember, I’ve practiced tapping for a long time, so I know the usual results of its use on myself. As I was doing positive tapping, there was a flood of energy, so much so that I began to break out in a sweat. Yet it felt as if the energy was transmuting the experience. It was beautiful!
I decided to try to reconstruct the experience some time later, without the oil. It wasn’t nearly as intense. So, waiting a few days, I tried again, this time adding the lemongrass essential oil back in to the tapping process. I was able to re-create the experience! To me, this proved the powerful influence of the oil.
I highly recommend trying lemongrass essential oil in your tapping routine, or even when meditating, to experience the positive results yourself.
