How to Make Natural Perfume from Essential Oils, DIY Tips

Using essential oils to make natural perfumes is fun and satisfying and also makes great gifts.  You will first need to make a base which can be either alcohol or a carrier oil such as jojoba. Jojoba has a long shelf life.  Best results are achieved by using a combination of both, as detailed next.

Use 1 teaspoon of carrier oil and 1 teaspoon of vodka. Place these in the bottle.  Add the essential oils from the recipe, below, one drop at a time. After adding the essential oils, put the closure and lid on. Gently shake the mixture together.  Store in a dark place for two weeks.  After two weeks — VOILA! — the blend should have matured and will be ready to use!
