What You Will Need & Instructions

  • Vinegar: 1 cup
  • Distilled (or filtered) water: 2 cups. Make sure you use only distilled water for your essential oil blends. The chemicals in tap water will react with the fragrant properties of your essential oils and make them ineffective. The water should be warm to hot when blending in your essential oils because to help release the essential oils into the solution.
  • Dish soap: 1/2 cup (optional)
  • Baking soda: 1/4 cup (optional)
  • Essential oils: 10-15 drops per 8 ounce bottle. If you don’t have a dropper, use a Q-tip to thoroughly mix into solution after adding each drop until well blended.
  • Disposable Transfer Pipets
  • 8 oz spray bottle
  • Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl and then transfer to a spray bottle. Shake gently to mix. Use as you would any other all purpose cleaner, and enjoy your new homemade cleaning product!

Cleaning with Vinegar

Vinegar is a natural disinfectant, and it can be used to clean most surfaces around the house. Vinegar’s acidity is what makes it such a good cleaner. Because vinegar is so acidic, it can counteract some tough buildups.  Use vinegar to clean windows, countertops, floors and more!

Why Distilled Water?

You’ll need to use water that is clean and free of contaminants. Water from the tap may be fine, but it’s best to use distilled or filtered water instead. If you have access to bottled spring water, you can also use that! If you’re going to use this cleaner within a few days, filtered water from your fridge or sink will be just fine. But if you’re planning to store this cleaner for a few weeks, distilled water is the safest choice. The distilled water process removes potential contaminants that could cause bacteria growth.

You use Castile Soap or Dish Soap

Castile soap is also an ideal product for getting started with non-toxic cleaning. You can mix it safely with other ingredients to create different cleaning solutions. It’s safe to use even around children and pets. Castile soap is biodegradable, vegan, and free from synthetic ingredients.

Many regular surfaces in your home can benefit from using dish soap as a cleaner. A mild dish soap solution works well on countertops, baseboards, windowsills, and many more surfaces.

All Purpose Eco-Friendly Cleaner With Essential Oils!*Adding Baking Soda

Baking soda is a natural cleaner that can be used to clean just about anything. It’s a mild abrasive, so it helps lift dirt and grime from surfaces. It’s also alkaline, which means that it can be used to kill bacteria (which causes smells), as well as neutralize acidic odors.
