Essential Oils for Deer Hunting

Essential Oils for Deer Hunting

Deer hunting season is upon us – along with the fall weather. Most deer hunters purchase commercially-made cover scents and lures that can be expensive. There’s an easier, cheaper, natural way to go about it!

All you need are a few essential oils and aromatherapy supplies. Mix your essential oils with a carrier oil (Sweet Almond, Jojoba, etc.). You can then use them on a scent wick or a cloth, or even on your skin (keep in mind that it is oil-based and could stain your clothes; also, be sure to test that you aren’t allergic to the oils before putting the mixture everywhere).

“Cover Scents” Essential Oils for Deer Hunting

There are several essential oils for deer hunting that are used to create a vegetation cover scent: Cedarwood, Cypress, Pine, and Anise. Be sure that you’re using a therapeutic quality essential oil, such as Bio Source Naturals, as they are the purest and will create the most effective vegetation cover scent.

Food Lures Essential OilsEssential Oils for Deer Hunting

Food lures help bring deer out into the open, which of course is your objective as a hunter. The best essential oils used for food lures are Anise, Honeysuckle, and Acorn. Anise is ideal because it does it all:  covers your scent AND attracts deer.

Your add claims to have the highest purity level of EO’s. Is this just for hunting? What other natural additives are in your oils?
