Homemade Natural Deodorant

Antiperspirant deodorant has aluminum in it, and we all know that putting it on your underarms every day is not exactly the healthiest thing (your lymphoids are right there!). Regardless, people keep buying it despite knowing the health risks. Why?

Additionally, most natural deodorants aren’t really effective. After a few hours of applying, that unfortunate BO smell starts to leak through – ugh! What an emotional energy drain to spend an entire day paranoid about lifting your arms too high for fear of giving bystanders a whiff of your pits!

Never fear! We have a recipe for a homemade natural deodorant that works. When you begin using it, give yourself a bit of time to let your body get used to it. Remember, too, that you will still sweat. Sweating is natural and is a necessary process for your body to function optimally.

Homemade Natural Deodorant That Works

3 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 cup arrowroot powder
1/3 cup melted coconut oil (be sure to use organic, virgin, cold pressed coconut oil)
10 drops Lavender, Peppermint, Lemon, Clove Bud or other essential oils for added scent

Combine the baking soda and arrowroot power. Pour in the melted coconut and essential oils. Stir until the mix is smooth. Pour into a small mason jar and put into the fridge for an hour (to harden and firm the coconut oil). You can also pour the mix into empty solid deodorant containers (find them on Amazon). Then store it in the bathroom. To apply, simply rub a bit it into each armpit, just as you would a commercial deodorant stick!

You might consider removing fractionated coconut oil from the other items listed from the ingredient list. Could be confusing/misleading since virgin coconut oil is listed as the actual ingredient. This deodorant really does work.
