Hydrosols or floral waters are commonly known as rose water or lavender water and are sold as skin toners and fresheners. A true floral water or hydrosol is formed during the water or steam distillation of plant material to make essential oils. Aromatherapists describe water that is formed during essential oil production as a hydrosol or hydrolat.

Caution: If you have eczema or sensitive skin, be cautious and test a small area of skin for reactions before using all over the body. if you have high blood pressure, epilepsy, or are pregnant do not use hydrosols that contain rosemary, eucalyptus, or peppermint.
