Background Information on Vanilla Oleoresin Oil
Vanilla oleoresin is a semi-solid concentrate made by removing the solvent from vanilla extract. A solution of isopropanol is frequently used instead of ethanol for the preparation. Some flavor and aroma is lost during removal of the solvent, but the essential oils remain.
Vanilla oil is blended with lotions, shampoos, body washes, and make up to produce a scent that is luxuriant and seductive. Many of the most expensive perfumes have a touch of vanilla blended with them to enhance the appeal of the perfume.
Vanilla oleoresin can be blended with a variety of essential oils and herbs to add the uplifting properties of vanilla. grapefruit, orange, lemon, bergamot, sandalwood, and more have been found to enhance the mood boosting effects of vanilla.
