Vanilla oleoresin is a popular scent and a favorite to blend with other oils. Vanilla is sweet and rich and makes a great addition to any home. It’s not just the flavor of vanilla that people love, but also its aroma. Vanilla has been used for centuries as a fragrance and flavoring agent in food, drinks and cosmetics. Today you can find it in everything from candles to soaps to perfumes to create romantic moods and an upbeat atmosphere.

Background Information on Vanilla Oleoresin Oil

Vanilla oleoresin is a semi-solid concentrate made by removing the solvent from vanilla extract. A solution of isopropanol is frequently used instead of ethanol for the preparation. Some flavor and aroma is lost during removal of the solvent, but the essential oils remain.

Vanilla oil is blended with lotions, shampoos, body washes, and make up to produce a scent that is luxuriant and seductive. Many of the most expensive perfumes have a touch of vanilla blended with them to enhance the appeal of the perfume.

Vanilla oleoresin can be blended with a variety of essential oils and herbs to add the uplifting properties of vanilla. grapefruit, orange, lemon, bergamot, sandalwood, and more have been found to enhance the mood boosting effects of vanilla. The bottle of vanilla oil is still an all-natural product. But for accuracy, most brands as well as Biosource label their bottle with “Vanilla Oleoresin”.

Adding a few drops of these blends to your diffuser (or diffuser necklace) will fill any room with its rich vanilla aroma. Add blends to your massage oils or lotions to relax muscles after exercise or to calm your mind following a stressful day. Use these essential oil blends in bathwater for an indulgent treat that will leave skin feeling soft and smooth ! You may also want to try adding some baking soda along with your vanilla blends in the bath for some extra moisturizing during winter months when skin tends toward dryness due to cold weather conditions.
