Room Disinfectant Recipes Using Aroma Lamps and Essential Oils

Aroma lamps consist of a small container which, after filling with water and oils (typically 15-20 drops), is heated by a candle or, more popular recently, an electric heat source within the lamp (no fire hazard or replacing candles as they burn out!).  As the water and oils are heated, an aromatic vapor is released into the air. There is an almost endless variety of lamps available to suit different tastes and decor.

Room disinfectant recipes using aroma lamps and essential oils are more beneficial than using scented candles or commercial aerosol air fresheners. Essential oils are much more powerful and effective because they actually eliminate odor, rather than mask it.* And, they not only perfume the air with a lovely, natural scent, but they also have the added benefit of eradicating airborne bacteria.*

Added benefits of using aroma lamps are increased oxygen levels in the air; a boosted immune system; decreased congestion; and the ability to be energized or relaxed, depending on the oils used.*

Below, we’ve given you four room disinfectant recipes using aroma lamps and essential oils, each recipe calling for different oils that are, in general, energizing and uplifting, but that also will disinfect and purify the air.*
