DIY Bath Salts with Essential Oils for Holiday GiftsDIY bath salts with essential oils for holiday gifts are a fun way to give a thoughtful and useful gift – with your personal touch!

These bath salts will soothe dry and itchy skin in the wintertime. Sea salt is detoxifying and conditions bathwater, making it a moisturizing addition to a relaxing essential oil blend.

Making your own bath salts takes only minutes!  A few drops of essential oils added to the salts goes a long way—the salt extends the oil’s reach.

With a festive holiday label and a decorative jar, you’ve got a very special, homemade gift that will be wholeheartedly appreciated this holiday season.

“Salt Glow” Blend

Make the following blend by combining all ingredients in a glass bowl, smoothing down any oil lumps that stick together. In a dry bathtub, begin using the blend by massaging the feet in a circular movement, moving up to the neck. Re-use the salts as they stick to the tub. Do not use on the face. Then, fill up the tub and relax! Your skin will be relaxed, rejuvenated, and sweetly scented—glowing!

  • 2 cups (500 ml) sea salt
  • 1 oz base oil (click here for a list of recommended oils)
  • 6-8 drops essential oil or absolute oil

This salt glow can also be used solely on the feet or hands, which is especially nice after a stressful day.

You’ll want to increase the shelf-life of your bath salt jar by adding the base oil later (include instructions for adding the base oil on a homemade label!).

To make the blend elegant and extra special, add 1 to 2 drops of jasmine or green tea absolute to 2 cups (500 ml) of salt.

For a relaxing touch, add lavender or clary sage to a bath blend. Give this bath jar gift to a friend or family member in need of a relaxing break.

There are many other types of bath salt blends. All make great gifts.

Should you use the entire recipe in one bath or would this be uses in multiple bath? I dont know how to use bath salts. I would love to make some Bath salts, but would like to know how much to use in a single bath. Thank you!
