Description: Yarrow is a flowering plant in the family of Asteraceae .Yarrow essential oil has a dark blue color. The plant from which it is derived is native to Asia, Europe, and North America. It was mentioned by Homer in classical Greece. The centaur Chiron taught Achilles to use yarrow to treat the wounds of soldiers on the battlefields of Troy.

Uses: Yarrow essential oil is traditionally used for topical wounds, cuts and abrasions. The leaves of the yarrow plant promote clotting and can be used to aid fresh nosebleeds. The aerial parts of the plant can be used to help support phlegm conditions, stimulate circulation, and can be used to assist reduction of high blood pressure.* The aerial parts of yarrow are also effective in supporting menstrual disorders. This oil encourages sweating to aid in reducing fevers and can be beneficial as a chest rub for relief from colds and the flu.* As a digestive tonic yarrow can be used to improve bile flow. This oil is also effective as a diuretic.*

Suggestions: Blends well with cedarwood, oakmoss, lemongrass, rosemary, helichrysum, and cypress.
