Sweet bay is an evergreen tree native to the Mediterranean area, Europe and the United States. The tree grows up to 60 feet in height.

The early Roman and Greeks used bay laurel as a symbol of reward and glory. It was the greatest honor to be crowned with a bay laurel wreath. Recipients of the bay laurel wreath were kings, priests, prophets, scholars, poets, athletes and soliders. It was valued for its memory-improvement properties and used for insect stings, painful joints and inflammation.

Bay Leaf, (Sweet) Pure Essential Oil Reviews

I’m using this mixed with white vinegar in a spray bottle to repel ants. We’ve had a major problem with all the rains.” A.P.

“This product works wonders for my wife’s arthritis. She has suffered from aching hands for many years since she was in her 30s. As she has gotten a bit older, pain has become more of an issue, especially in the joints closest to the fingernail. I love essential oil treatments, and have found myself doing tons of research, online and thru books that specialize in EO recipes. I heard about Bay Laurel being a ‘wonder’ oil for arthritis, and decided to try it. I use this Bay Leaf *Laurus nobillis EO, combined with spearmint, lavender ‘population’, thyme, geranium and ginger. Yes, it is quite a few oils to mix, but most every oil listed here is found in many EO recipe blends for arthritis. The Bay, however, is the main ingredient in my blend. For most of my blends, I use the 1 oz amber dropper. This arthritis blend is very concentrated, e.g., Bay Leaf 5mils, mixed with 5 drops each, of the others listed above. If you do not have some of the oils listed above, no worries, as the this Bay is the kicker. Peppermint is a good all around substitute or addition. Like I said, my blend is quite concentrated. My carrier oil is Apricot or Coconut. Hope this helps you and your love ones.” – Tom

“This is a very good product. Bay Leaf has a wonderful aroma, and this is a natural, full strength essential oil of the Bay Leaf. It is advertised for aches and pains, but I have used it for its pleasing aroma in beauty creams. It is a great product at a great price.” – P. McWhorter

“Was so glad to find this oil, needed it to make a certain blend recipe.” – C. Scott
