Background Information on Cajeput Pure Essential Oil
Cajeput is from the same family of plants as tea tree (Melaleuca). Cajeput is an evergreen tree native to Australia and Asia. The tree grows to 50-100 feet. It has narrow elliptical leaves and a papery bark. It is cultivated as an ornamental tree for its beautiful white, pink or purple flowers. Cajeput is a family of over 150 trees. It has many synonymns. In Java and malaysia, cajeput oil was a remedy for cholera and muscle/joint pains.
In Asia and Africa, cajeput pure essential oil is used as an insecticide and parasiticide.
Natives of ancient Indonesia developed the oil when attempting to heal common breathing problems. It was said to improve blood circulation and created a calming effect when placed into a ceramic bowl filled with recently boiled water.
